Associate Director, Toxicology

Summary of primary duties and responsibilities:

    -The Associate Director, Toxicology may have supervisory responsibilities
    for a number of Study Directors as delegated by the Vice President, Sciences.
    -Holder of this position is expected to occasionally undertake the role of
    Study Director for the conduct of non-clinical safety (toxicology, safety
    pharmacology, toxico/pharmacokinetics) studies for key clients.
    -The individual should be able to work independently as Study Director on all
    basic and many specialized study types.
    -The individual will be expected to play a significant role in training of less experienced toxicologists.
    -The individual should have significant understanding of toxicology and
    regulatory issues, so that he/she is able to give expert advice to clients on
    study/program design and regulatory concerns.
    – Associate Director, Toxicology may be called upon to take a
    leading role in an in-house committees and task-forces, to be involved in sales and
    marketing events, and to deputize for the Vice President, Sciences in matters
    pertaining to staff management/ special projects, such as the review of
    study plans and reports.

    Essential to the position, is a unique and widely recognized expertise in a
    specific area of non-clinical safety assessment, as demonstrated by publications
    (e.g. abstracts, posters, papers) /invited lectures, etc.

    As a key person for training of staff, interacting with Sponsors and
    undertaking management responsibilities, the individual must have demonstrated
    exemplary performance in the quality, quantity and timeliness of their work.

    Minimum Qualifications & Requirements.

    • Ph.D. in a relevant field, or BSc, or M.Sc. with Board Certification in
    Toxicology, or equivalent professional qualification

    • Experience: 5 years experience as Senior Toxicologist / Scientist, or a suitable
    combination of relevant scientific and technical experience related to toxicology

    • Proficient in English (spoken and written) and able to communicate in French
    • Superior report writing abilities
    • Autonomous, organized with the ability to lead and motivate and team

    Conditions: Permanent, day-time, full-time (37.5 hr/week)
