ITR's team of over 20 pathology technicians are equipped with the latest technologies allowing them to necropsy over 6000 animals, process over 200,000 tissues and prepare over 60,000 slides per year.
ITR's Veterinary Pathologists have the right mix of academic background and industry experience allowing them to provide expert evaluation and interpretation of pathology findings.
The necropsy lab consists of two necropsy suites, one for large animals (dogs/monkeys/rabbits and mini-pigs) and one for rodents (rats/mice/guinea pigs). The 6 necropsy stations are fully equipped with the Provantis pathology module used for direct data capture, including macroscopic findings and organ weights. Prior to euthanasia rodents are stored in the necropsy suite anti-room, while a special room is used to euthanize large animals all in an effort to minimize stress.
