INFUSION

ITR_024

The main reason for infusing a drug in humans is to achieve a constant systemic exposure with the aim of producing the desired pharmacological effect, while reducing or eliminating any potential adverse effects. In toxicology, the main reason for administering a drug by infusion is to mimic the proposed clinical route and to help establish safety margins in relation to the clinical dosing regimen.

ITR Canada Inc. is one of the world leaders in non-clinical infusion technology. The facility includes a surgical suite, animal rooms and all the necessary equipment (surgical equipment, infusion pumps, special cages, etc.) and services, including experienced technical and scientific staff to conduct infusion toxicology studies. Over the past 18 years ITR Canada Inc. has performed over 175 infusion studies.
